“Quantum Break” Demo Premiere
A New Take on the Third Person Shooter with Time Powers
At the latest "E3," we saw footage of a lot of games. Some had gameplay, while others did not. One of the games we saw very little of was "Quantum Break," an exclusive "Xbox One" title. That has all changed now. At the latest "Gamescom" event, we got to see a short demo of actual gameplay. Read more »

“WATCH_DOGS”
Does It Hack It?
Watch Dogs was Ubisoft's highly anticipated game of 2013...er...2014. Setbacks and delays pushed it to a release day in May 2014, and honestly, that delay seemed to help the game generate even more anticipation and hype. It was the first non-Kickstarter game that I've followed closely since it was announced at E3; each trailer and gameplay demo seemed dead on the money. This is going to be huge, I remember thinking. Light Gaming in Adolescents Improves Development and Life Satisfaction
Light Gaming, Guys, Light Gaming
As gamers, we’re familiar with the struggle between those for and against our community and lifestyle. Those who support tout that games improve cognition, reasoning, and nonlinear thinking methods. The opponents counter with studies that claim gaming increases chances for aggression, depression, or simply that they might become mother’s basement shut-ins. Often at the focus of the disagreement is childhood and adolescent development and whether or not childhood gamers develop the social skills that they’ll need later in life. How much should children and young teens be allowed to play, and how much is too much? Read more »

“The Counting Kingdom”
Defeat Waves of (Adorable) Monsters with Mathematical Magic
I am, by no means, a fan of math. As an English major in college, I loathed the fact that I was forced to take Algebra and Calculus when I could have used that schedule time for another Brit Lit course or even creative writing. However, it is a necessary evil, and in the case of Little Worlds Interactive's “The Counting Kingdom,” it is the force which vanquishes wave after adorable wave of monsters. Read more »
