“Bayonetta 2”

“Bayonetta 2”

Star of Action Has Arrived to the Party

Nintendo graciously let “Bayonetta 2” live on in the wake of funding absence, despite fan and critic appraisal and a decent number in sales. This begs the question: Is the continuation of the hack-and-slash game “Bayonetta” worth your attention?

I will be upfront: go buy “Bayonetta 2:” Get a Wii U and play this game. All gamers should be playing this game. I haven’t seen this much polish and love put into a video game in a long time. Not only do you get the sequel, but it also comes with the first “Bayonetta” updated for the Wii U. This game is jammed pack with non-stop climax action, and it won’t disappoint. Read more »

Fanmade “Suikoden 2.5” Coming Soon

If Fans Wait Long Enough for a Game, They’ll Make It Themselves

The first installment in a series of episodes sequeling “Suikoden 2” is slated to release in early November. According to the developer’s Facebook page, the first chapter serves as a prequel to the earliest events of “Suikoden 2,” showing screenshots of Lucas and Agares Blight, two of the initial antagonists. The second and third episodes will take place after the events of “Suikoden 2,” and comments have shown that Viktor will be the star of this game. The team added that “2.5” will keep the story-driven feel that “Suikoden” fans have grown used to and that they intend to keep the prequel/sequel within constraints of the series’ lore. Read more »

“The Legend of Korra”

“The Legend of Korra”

Just Needs a Bit More Avatar Training

Video game adaptations of different mediums are … tricky beasts to comprehend. They started out great with “DuckTales” and the varying Mickey Mouse games on the NES, SNES, and Genesis. Sure, there were several lackluster ones as well, but normally when a game adaptation was mentioned, people were excited. Not so much nowadays. Most notorious with movies that just released on the big screen, many companies tried to rush a game out that falls further than short to match the movie’s standards. Unless an adaptation is well planned ahead to exist in the universe or on its own (e.g., the “Batman Arkham" series), video game adaptations don’t inspire a lot of confidence. Read more »
