Xbox One vs. PS4: Game Sharing and Streaming
Sharing Headshots Might Cost More than You Thought
Information from the official Xbox website starts to paint a grim scenario for those holding out hope that Microsoft would at least try to close the gap between Sony's offerings and their own.
We already knew that online multiplayer was going to be a paid feature from both companies. However, Xbox One features such as OneGuide, Game DVR, Skype, and SmartMatch all will require Xbox Live Gold. Engadget even reached out to Microsoft for confirmation.
The features listed will need an Xbox Live Gold membership.
Once word got out, fans began asking Sony for clarification on exactly what the PlayStation Plus subscription entails. Shuhei Yoshida, president of Worldwide Studios for Sony Computer Entertainment, responded to fan questions on Twitter to clarify that the game streaming and recording features are available for all PlayStation 4 users, not just those with an active Playstation Plus subscription.

While Microsoft's Game DVR feature may not be a deal breaker, it's sad to see more and more features locked behind subscriptions. Netflix was bad enough.
