“The Division” Director Leaves Ubisoft for Square Enix
Joining IO Interactive
As reported by MCVUK, "The Division's" direct Ryan Barnard will be leaving Ubisoft, where he will be joining Square Enix's team. Specifically, Barnard will join "Hitman's" IO Interactive.
Barnard will be IO's gameplay director, where he will be in charge of gameplay, online, and world. Square Enix released the following statement:
Ryan’s contributions to game design over the years show he’s the ideal person to spearhead the coming efforts.
We are very happy to add his talent to the pool of great people working at IO.
Barnard's previous work included time spent at Sony Online Entertainment, EA Mythic, and Ubisoft Massive.
