TellTale Games’ “Game of Thrones” Details Revealed - Story Follows Members of House Forrester

TellTale Games has finally released some concrete information on their "Game of Thrones" series. Posted on The TellTale Blog, the game will follow the story of House Forrester during The War of Five Kings through six episodes.

Our game series is based on the world, characters and events seen in HBO's TV show, which in turn is based on George R. R. Martin's books (A Song of Ice and Fire). The events in our game series begin towards the end of Season Three of the TV show and end right before the beginning of Season Five. You will visit familiar locations such as King's Landing and The Wall, as well as unfamiliar locations such as Ironrath, the home of House Forrester.

House Forrester is a noble house from the Wolfswood in the north of Westeros. Bannermen to House Glover, they have always offered unswerving loyalty to the ruling great house of the North – the Starks. The Forresters are seated at Ironrath, an imposing stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees. Built over 1,500 years ago by Cedric Forrester and his triplet sons, Ironrath is a testament to the strength and endurance of Ironwood. The Forrester house words are 'Iron from Ice,' which echoes their belief that - like the ironwood itself - the adverse conditions and unforgiving landscape of the North only makes them stronger. Steve Allison, senior vice president of publishing for TellTale Games, mentioned before that there will be five playable characters from the same house. The blog goes into detail that the five characters will be set across Westeros and Essos. Most interesting is that the five characters have heavy impacts on what the player has them do. "Multiply the actions of one character by five, and you're truly playing the Game of Thrones …where you win, or you die." This could imply that main characters can in fact die. However, it isn't clear just yet if these deaths act out predetermined or certain actions will get characters killed just like in the video game "Heavy Rain."

The release date for the first episode, "Iron From Ice," hasn't been announced yet, but it is scheduled before the end of the year. "Game of Thrones" is coming to PC/Mac, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
