“Super Smash Bros.” Getting a July 31 Update *Updated*
Tournament Mode, Stages, and Mii Costumes
Updated There may be two additional stages coming according to GameXplain, as seen in a reported link- A "Dr. Mario" stage and Great Bay from "Super Smash Bros. Melee." The cut "Dr. Mario" stage has some convincing screenshots, while the Great Bay is just one screen with Toon Link. Please take these leaks with a grain of salt, as any leak can be faked.
According to Nintendo Life through Nintendo tweets for Europe and Japan, there will be an update for "Super Smash Bros." for Wii U/3DS on July 31, for Europe and Japan anyways. A North American update will either be on the same day or shortly after.
Of note, Mii costumes will be available. King K. Rool from the "Donkey Kong" series, Chrom form "Fire Emblem: Awakening," and a red hoodie are coming for Miis. It should be noted, however, that Meta Knight as a Mii costume was revealed before Meta Knight himself was revealed, making King K. Rool a future DLC character still a possibility.
Tournament Mode, along with Peach's Castle and Hyrule Castle from the original "Super Smash Bros." on the Nintendo 64, will be available.
The Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot is still open until Oct. 3, with future DLC possibly coming after that time period. With the surprise of Ryu from "Street Fighter" appearing in the game, there could be a few more surprises coming after that.
