“Super Smash Bros.” for 3DS Has Day-One Patch
Patch Allows for Online Multiplayer
"Super Smash Bros." for 3DS has just been released outside of Japan, and many fans lined up for the midnight release at various Gamestops. While nothing is going to stop people from playing the single player content to unlock goodies, there is a patch already out there for the game to enable the online multiplayer.
On Nintendo's 3DS support page, there is an online guide for updating the title. 3DS owners should have the latest system update, and they should either scan the QR code the site has given or manually go into the Nintendo eShop and download the patch for "Super Smash Bros." for 3DS. Players should look for 1.0.2 on the title screen to make sure that the download has been applied.
Whether players decide to download the patch or not is up to them, but it certainly helps broaden the options the game has to offer. This patch may also enable the option to connect the 3DS version of "Super Smash Bros." with the Wii U one, where owners of both versions can link customized characters and use the 3DS as a controller for the Wii U version. What else this connection entails is unknown at this time, but we'll soon find out with "Super Smash Bros. Wii U" on the horizon later to release this year.
