Starter Pokémon For “Sun & Moon” Revealed - New Trailer Shows off Gameplay and Legendaries

After what feels like months of no new info, the good people at Nintendo and Game Freak have released a brand new trailer for the upcoming "Pokémon Sun & Moon," the seventh generation of the popular, child-friendly cockfighting franchise. And for such a short trailer, we got a bunch of new details regarding the titles - the most prominent being the three Starters.

For those unfamiliar with the series, every main "Pokémon" game starts off with you choosing your first Pokémon from one of three - one Grass type, one Fire type and one Water type. For "Sun & Moon," those three are:

Rowlett, a cuddly looking owl that is both Grass and Flying.
Litten, a teeny black cat that can shoot fire.
Popplio, a cute-as-a-button seal that looks like it's from the circus.

The trailer also shows off the new region that the game will be set in. Called Alola, it looks set to be a very lively, sunny locale that has drawn inspiration from Hawaii. Not only that but, for the first time in the series, characters will now have much more accurate body sizes. In past games, you were always shrunk down slightly, resulting in slightly more chibi-looking characters. Not only that, but it seems Trainer customisation may come back. Considering its popularity in "X & Y," Game Freak would be remiss to exclude it.

While seeing the new Starters is exciting enough, the trailer also shows off the new Legendary Pokémon that will be adorning the games' box-art. While no names have been revealed, it can be said that they look incredibly majestic (especially that lion one).

"Pokémon Sun & Moon" are scheduled for release on the 3DS on November 18th in North America. The UK will receive it a week later on November 23rd.
