“Splatoon” Nintendo Direct Information

The "Splatoon" Nintendo Director went live and it revealed additional information on the game set to release for the Wii U on May 29.
The singleplayer and multiplayer modes were given more explanation via the Squid Research Lab, similar to the "Mario Kart 8" Nintendo Direct. The fights center around turf wars, where squids/Inklings have to cover the area with their color ink. The weapons were also shown off, such as the regular shooters, charging guns, and rollers.
The hub town will be the area where your select Inkling moves about and choices what you want to do for gameplay. You can customize squids, buy items, and more. The singleplayer modes can be found with Cap'n Cuttlefish were you fight against the Octarians (the octopus enemies).
Online play was also shown off with rankings, regular/rank online battles, and more.
Additional, there will be maps, weapons, gears, and events will be added after launch, which has been said to be free. There's also an 8-bit game called "Squid Jump" to pass time and while matchmaking. Amiibo support will also be included for the Inkling Girl, Boy, and Squid that offer additional missions. There will also be a free demo released on the Wii U eShop shortly after the presentation with special days to play. Those days to play the beta live include May 8 from 8-9pm PT, May 9 from 4-5am PT, and May 9 12-1pm PT.
