Sears.com Glitch Advertises Game Bundles for $59.99
Consumers Nab Wii U and 3DS Sets for Cheap
Have you ever seen a deal that seemed too good to be true? Over the weekend, many online consumers did. Thanks to a pricing glitch on Sears.com, many gamers were able to pick up Wii U and 3DS bundles for $59.99 plus tax.
Thanks to the price-matching policies of numerous big box retailers (like Wal-Mart and Toys R Us), those who heard about the error were able to get the same insane deal. Typically, these bundles ring up around $200-300 for the 3DS and the Wii U respectively.
This is not the first website glitch that resulted in ridiculous prices. In 2011, a third-party seller on Sears.com listed the iPad 2 for $69. Just last year, a glitch on Walmart’s website listed many high-priced electronics for less than $10. Ironically, the same glitch caused random items like a can of Pledge furniture polish to be priced at $92. Unfortunately for those who got the great deals, once the errors were discovered, Sears and Walmart cancelled the orders and issued full refunds.
With Black Friday almost upon us, eager consumers are already chomping at the bit for the best deals. Cyber Monday has become as much of a part of the holiday buying season as the aforementioned holiday.
