Pumpkaboo Distribution Event Is Now Live!
Super-Sized Ghost-Type Pokémon Available via Download
Halloween is fast approaching, and in the spirit of the spooky holiday, Nintendo is giving out treats of the “Pokémon” variety!
Ghost-type Pumpkaboo is available for download thanks to a distribution event that coincides with the Trick-or-Treat Friendly online competition. While you can catch the Generation VI Pokémon in-game, this event Pumpkaboo is extra special! It's super-sized, which means that its base HP is higher than the three smaller versions of the same Pokémon.
In addition to being super-sized, the event Pumpkaboo has a greater chance of possessing the Insomnia Hidden Ability. (Unfortunately, I got “tricked”--my Pumpkaboo's ability is Pickup.) A few other “treats” with the event Pumpkaboo include the Rocky Helmet, a held item that injures any Pokémon that attacks the holder and learned moves Trick-or-Treat and Scary Face.
Those wishing to compete in the Trick-orTreat Friendly online competition must have a super-sized Gourgeist (which can be achieved by trading your super-sized Pumpkaboo with a friend). It is a single battle-style competition that allows only ghost-type Pokémon to be used. Registration for the event begins Oct. 16 and continues until Oct. 23 with competition beginning Oct. 24.
