“Portal,” “Half-Life” Movies Are Still Happening - And We Are Still Waiting...

Way back in 2013, it was revealed that J.J. Abrams and Gabe Newell were interested in making movies together - particularly ones based on some of Valve's most popular titles: "Portal" and "Half-Life." There hasn't been a lot of news on the subject. Frankly, I feel like most of us probably forgot that it was happened or just assumed it had fallen through.

At a recent interview with IGN (around the 1:02 mark), however, J.J. Abrams tells us that development on these movies is still underway.

They're in development. And we've got writers, and we're working on both those stories. But nothing that would be an exciting update.

It's not much, but it's something. An interesting bit of trivia, though, one of Dan Trachtenberg's (the director behind J.J. Abrams' newest movie 10 Cloverfield Lane.) first huge successes was a "Portal" fan-film entitled "No Escape." It was released in August of 2011, and is currently sitting at about 17.3 million views on Youtube. While Trachtenberg's name hasn't been publicly mentioned alongside any of Abram's projects with Valve, there is a solid possibility that he'll eventually have a hand in the production - especially given the recent success of 10 Cloverfield Lane.

What would you want to see in a "Portal" or "Half-Life" movie?
