Nintendo Introduces New Rewards Program - Say Hello to

Nintendo updated fans and stakeholders of its most recent Corporate Management Policy Briefing, which revealed a new rewards program that will replace Club Nintendo.

The new program is called My Nintendo. My Nintendo links to a Nintendo Account that connects all of the devices you own, while your Nintendo Network ID functions as a source for email. If you buy software from a PC or smartphone device, it downloads to your Wii U or Nintendo 3DS. Additionally, "Friend" relationships will be improved. A friend code may no longer be needed.

Nintendo will also use a cloud storage base, which saves game save data for future use and may solve the problem of having content locked to one console.

A new point program will be introduced, which will reward players points to purchase digital content, physical merchandise, and more. The biggest addition to the point program, however, is that players will earn points by playing games, whether on their main consoles or on mobile devices. Whether this, in turn, makes things like trophies and achievements reward players with points or these points are earned by playing a game for a certain amount of time isn't known, but players will earn points in some form by playing their games.

Hidden in one of the pictures of Nintendo's popular characters picture, Link appears with a never-before-seen appearance, and other characters use existing promotional art. This may be alluding to the rumored "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Remake" floating around, but we are unsure of the details at this time. Nintendo has stated that there will be (at least) one more Nintendo Direct before the end of the year, so we could hear an official announcement then. Stick with Player Theory for the next available update to My Nintendo!
