New “Valkyria Chronicles Remastered” Trailer Confirms Release Date - Coming To The West Soon

When compared to some of Sega's other franchises, "Valkyria Chronicles" is probably one of their least well-known ones. There are only four games in the whole series, and two of them haven't even been released outside of Japan. So while it may not be a brand new title, fans will probably be very happy to be able to get their hands on this remastered version of the very first "Valkyria Chronicles," especially now that a release date has been confirmed.

Simply titled "Valkyria Chronicles Remastered", it will be launch on the PS4 in both America and Europe on May 17th. In a new trailer released today, Sega shows off the game's “BLiTZ” Tactical Battle System, which combines elements of turn-based strategy, RPG and third-person shooter games. This update of the PS3 original will come with fancy 1080p/60fps graphics, English and Japanese audio to satisfy both sides of the subs vs dubs argument, trophy support and even all of the original DLC, including an extra mission that puts you in control of antagonist Selvaria Bles.

And, of course, if you pre-order the game, you can get your hands on a collectible steelbook-style metal Squad 7 Armored Case. Perfect for those hardcore fans. With any luck, this game's success might lead to a re-release of the Japan-exclusive third game that came out on the PSP or (and probably more likely) a Western release of "Valkyria: Azure Revolution", which should be out on PS4 by the end of the year in Japan.
