Naughty Dog Releases Two Free Maps for “Last of Us”
Thankful to Fans Who Are Dealing with Multiplayer Match-Matching Issues
In an attempt to soothe things over with a player-base that is frustrated with "The Last of Us: Remastered"'s multiplayer match-making issues, Naughty Dog has decided to release two new multiplayer maps, completely free, to the public. Arne Meyer, the community strategist at Naughty Dog, made this statement through an official blog post:
"Believe me, the entire team at Naughty Dog completely understands how frustrating this has been for many of you in our community. We've got some good news. At the end of July, we teased some new multiplayer add-on content which included a glimpse at new maps for Factions. We're glad to say that we've decided to release these two maps for free on both the PS3 and PS4 in appreciation for all of your continued patience as we work to resolve the matchmaking issues."
The match-making issue for the remastered "Last of Us" mostly deals with incredibly long wait times before players are put into a game. Naughty Dog is working hard on the issue and promise that while there is no clear timeframe for when a fix will be implemented, that it should be "on the short side of weeks, rather than months."
According to "The Last of Us" wiki, the two new multiplayer maps will include the riverbed sewer system (also featuring Ish's shipwrecked boat) and the Financial Plaza outside the Hotel Grande.
While the new maps are exciting for some people, those players playing "The Last of Us: Remastered" are still in a frustrating position until the match-making system gets fixed. Until then, Naughty Dog advises: "If you find yourself waiting to get into a match, the best thing you can do is exit matchmaking and select 'Find Match' again."
