Miyamoto Discusses “Super Mario Bros.” Myths
One Answer Raises Too Many Questions
Nintendo of Europe posted a video on their Twitter where Shigeru Miyamoto answers several "Super Mario Bros." myths, in celebration of "Super Mario Maker" coming out September 11.
Mario is in fact named after Mario Segale, the landlord on a Nintendo of America Warehouse. Mario does not die in the original "Super Mario Bros." box art, where it was believed he would fall into a lava pit. "Super Mario Bros. 3" was all just a play. Bob-ombs do not become Boos when they blow up. Mario does in fact break blocks with his fist when he jumps, not with his head. Curiously, "Super Mario Maker" doesn't feature any of Miyamoto's courses yet, however he promises to post something in due time.
The biggest question to be asked: Bowser Jr.'s mother is none other than Miyamoto himself ... which begs too many questions best left unanswered.
Also, don't let Dr. Mario operate on you, seeing how Miyamoto reacted to the question if he would let the "good doctor" operate on him.
