“Miitomo” Receives Release Date
Already over a million users in Japan
It's been 11 days since Nintendo's first mobile title, "Miitomo," was released in Japan, and some fans have been wondering when it would make its way to the West. Well, now we have an answer courtesy of Nintendo's Twitter account.
"Miitomo" will launch on iOS and Android devices on March 31 (this Thursday), in both Europe and America. For those that haven't kept up with it, "Miitomo" is a social messaging app where users create a Mii avatar in order to communicate with other Mii avatars created by friends.
When you first start up the app, you'll be asked a series of questions that will be shared with your friends, though you do have the option to change your responses later on. You can also customize your Mii to your liking with different clothing and accessory options. Some of these options are in-game purchases but the app itself is free.
The app has been doing incredibly well in Japan, having managed to garner over a million users in its first three days and is currently the most downloaded app on the Japanese App Store.
