Microsoft Ends Gold Subcription Requirement for Streaming Services
Good News for Xbox Users Running Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube
Starting in June, Xbox 360 and Xbox One users will no longer need a Gold subscription to access streaming services. According to Microsoft, Netflix, HBO Go, Twitch and many other apps will no longer require users to pay for their online service to utilize them . The chart below gives you a better idea on what is being offered with and without a Gold membership.
This is great news for players who use streaming services already, seeing as how the PS3 and the Wii had already adopted these policies. With this change, Microsoft is upping the ante and working to improve Gold Membership bonuses. Xbox One will start its free "Games with Gold" service in June as well, a service that is already available to Xbox 360 users.
