“Legend of Zelda” 30th Anniversary Timeline

"It's dangerous to go alone..."

“Legend of Zelda” 30th Anniversary Timeline -

Today, February 21, 2016, marks the 30th anniversary of the release of the original "Legend of Zelda" game. To celebrate, Player Theory did a little bit of research and put together a timeline that breaks down nearly every major "Legend of Zelda"-related event since the day it all began in February of 1986.

There has been a Zelda game for just about every generation of gamer since it's initial release. Some remember blowing into a cartridge and starting up "A Link To The Past" on their Super Nintendo, others remember diving into the Water Temple in "The Ocarina of Time," or maybe you're a newer fan, and you started with "Skyward Sword." It doesn't matter where in the series you started, because wherever it was, the series probably left a mark on you. The games tell simple stories, but they're good and they always have a lot of heart. It's a series that people care about - from the young fan starting their first game, all the way up to the developers working tirelessly to make the game perfect.

If this is how strong the "Legend of Zelda" series is after 30 years (and on almost a dozen different systems), then I think we can all look forward to what we'll have after 30 more years.
