Konami Will Close 31 Mobile Games in Japan

Moving from Premium Mobile to Free-to-play

According to GamesIndustry, Konami will be closing 31 premium mobile games in Japan.

As further shown by Dr. Serkan Toto (and for the whole list of games), the 31 games are primarily focused in Japan. Those games that are also in English, however, won't be affected outside of Japan.

This transition was earlier highlighted when Konami stated back in May that they would be pursuing the mobile free-to-play business model in the future. What lies in store for Konami in the future isn't clear, but the push away from console and traditional games and pull towards the mobile scene has become more evident.
