“Jay and Silent Bob” Game Getting Crowdfunding - Interabang Developing...but not without your help!

Taking to Fig for crowdfunding, Interabang Entertainment announced that they will be developing "Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch."

Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes will, of course, be the voices for their titular characters, with Kevin also working as the creator on the game's setting. Interabang Entertainment discussed how the idea came about to make a game based off the characters:

We think Kevin’s movies are irreverently dope. During the design of our first game, we often watched the movies back-to-back like Drake post-Degrassi. The iconic characters, hilarious dialogue, and the sheer surreality of the Askew-niverse got us through the rough patches of development hell and life's struggles. We cut our teeth in combat-based game development and always thought it would be amazing to see Jay and Silent Bob in a game like the ones we make. We often wondered, "Why hasn't anybody done this game yet?"

The game will be a 2.5D side-scroller, similar to that of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time," "Streets of Rage," and "Final Fight," where Jay and Silent Bob have to figure out why their customers vanished. In their search, they discover a mall that's practically a city and something very, very wrong.

"Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch" is being independently funded due to fear that it would get censored (because they sell weed and swear...a lot). The game is being made for PC, Steam, The Humble Store, and GOG, with the chance of a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version coming out - assuming proper funding can be made.

The stretch goal for being funded is $400,000, which will end on March 31, 2016. Some of the rewards for funding the game include a digital copy of the game, digital soundtracks, physical copies (though they come with a shirt and more), and more options. The most expensive one includes the chance of appearing in Kevin Smith's next film.
