Hironobu Sakaguchi to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Man Responsible for Creating "Final Fantasy"

Hironobu Sakaguchi, the man who created the "Final Fantasy" series, will be given the Lifetime Achievement Award during the 15th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards, according to GameIndustry.biz.

Sakaguchi first joined Square Enix, when it was still called Square Soft, in 1986. He later resigned from Square, which led to the merging of Square Soft and Enix Corporation, and founded Mistwalker. Some of the games he worked on include the early installments of the main "Final Fantasy" games, the first "Kingdom Hearts," "Parasite Eve & 2," "Vagrant Story," "Brave Fencer Musashi," "Chrono Trigger," and "Chrono Cross."

The 15th Annual Games Developer Choice Awards will be on March 4 at the Moscone Convention Center.
