First “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag” DLC gets Mid-Dec. Release Date
Game Informer advertisement reveals December 17th launch
An advertisement in the January 2014 issue of Game Informer has revealed the release date for "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's" first downloadable content. Titled "Freedom Cry", the 4+ hours of content will be available for download December 17th. It is included as part of the ACIV season pass, so those who have purchased it will get the content as part of the package. While the ad pictures logos for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4 are pictured, it makes no mention of the WiiU or PC titles, suggesting players on those consoles may have to wait a little longer.
The advert (pictured above) does not reveal many details, but Ubisoft has discussed the narrative since its announcement in October. "Freedom Cry" puts the player in the pirate robes of Kenway's lead shipmate, Adewale. The DLC begins 15 years after the main-story campaign under very familiar circumstances to those who have played the campaign. Adewale has since become a trained assassin shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue with no weapons or crew, forced to tackle the high seas in his own adventure.
