Firaxis Releases their Second Video Showcasing Sid Meier’s “Beyond Earth”
Pete Murray and David McDonough Discuss Seeded Starts, Non-Historical Civilization, and Space Adventures
"Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth” has clear skies projected in its forecast in anticipation for an Oct. 24 release date.
"Civilization V" was released four years ago, with numerous “mini” expansions, as well as larger DLC packs to facilitate a near life-consuming stream of content. “Beyond Earth” looks to use the same hexagonal formula and UI system from “Civilization V” but with one minor difference: the glorious, endless, and frightening expanse that is space.
Following in the hallowed footsteps of another Firaxis 4X title“Alpha Centauri,” "Beyond Earth" looks to borrow just as much from the Sid Meier's title "Colonization." As the player finds this Terra Nova inhospitable at first, the player's dealings with the native life must be taken into account before advancing your civilization to meet its lofty goals.
As you embark on your journey you must make critical decisions. From your choice of sponsor and the make-up of your colony, to the ultimate path you choose for your civilization, every decision opens up new possibilities. "Civilization" Official Website
