Fan Made “Resident Evil 2” Remake Voluntarily Shuts Down

Capcom, However, Invites Team for "Further Ideas"

Posting to NeoGAF, the team behind the fan remake "Resident Evil 2 Reborn," InvaderGames, announced they have stopped development.

Two obvious reasons why this has occurred: the first one is that Capcom announced that they would be making an actual remake for "Resident Evil 2," and the second is that Capcom asked them to stop work on the game. While the second reason sounds cross, the opposite is actually true, Capcom invited the team to join up and discuss "further ideas."

"Resident Evil 2 Remake" was announced to be in production and will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
