“Europa Universalis IV” Expands with Gold
Empire Building, Empire Destroying, El Dorado Coming
Paradox Interactive are introducing the next expansion for their popular "Europa Universalis IV" game this coming Feb. 26.
Do you want to plunder the treasures of South America and sail grand fleets laden with gold back to your kingdom? Perhaps you’d prefer to lay your enemies upon the alter of an angry god and sate his thirst for blood? Maybe you’d rather take you pick of the known world, crafting a nation unlike any other? "Europa Universalis IV: El Dorado" will allow you to do just that.
This will be the fifth expansion for the best-selling historical grand strategy game. It focuses on adding a much greater depth to the New World which was first expanded in "Conquest of Paradise." European explorers and conquistadors will set sail for this land of promise and wealth seeking adventure in South and Central America.
"El Dorado" adds greater depth to the Aztec, Mesoamerican and Incan cultures with new religions and mechanics to help them prepare for the inevitable foreign invasions. Can you ward off Doomsday and hold off the Spanish armies? Paradox Interactive
The new Nation Designer is another big feature of this expansion. Players will be able to create their own country nestled anywhere they choose in the world and use it to conquer all they see. Randomized nations will be your opponents, and the expansion has the capability to support up to 32 user-designed nations competing for supremacy. "El Dorado" also introduces a system to automate exploration at sea and on land where your hardy adventurers will encounter new events and decisions in their quest for cities of gold.
This doesn’t mean those who own the base title will be left out as Paradox Interactive throws out a bunch of content which is free to all "Europa Universalis IV" players. It means they won’t be left to far behind or forgotten and continues Paradox Interactive trend of giving everyone a little something with every expansion to date.
