BlizzCon Log 1: The Goodie Bag
Lets Dig In
Every year, Blizzard gifts convention attendees a goodie bag when they pick up their badge. The bag contains items which are considered very rare and are highly coveted by fans. If you're savvy with eBay, you could make back the price of your ticket just be selling the bags contents. The items in the bag are unknown up until pickup but some things keep popping up from year to year enabling some to predict what all is inside.
The flagship item is almost always a figurine, and this year is no different. This year's bag includes three smaller figures instead of one larger one. These three figures are Kerrigan, Diablo, and Arthas, The Lich King, and are fashioned in a similar style to the Raynor figure from 2009.
The other main attraction is a code for an in-game pet, Murkalot, in "World of Warcraft." Other digital items include "Starcraft 2" portraits, a special Mystery Minion card for "Hearthstone", and banner decal artwork for "Diablo 3."
Finally, you collect a standard pile of advertisements from sponsors and a schedule with map for the weekends events.
Surprisingly missing is a Battle.net Keychain Authenticator with unique art. In years past Blizzard has given these out in the bags to help promote users enabling two factor authentication on their accounts. Also missing is the assortment of random knickknack type items such as hand sanitizer or Zerg Creep.
This years bag is a slight let down compared to years past, but for fans of Blizzards various IPs, the gifts are a welcome addition to their collections.
