“Assassin’s Creed: Victory” Leaks Screenshots
Appears to Be Set in 19th Century London
Thanks to a leak of footage we know more about the new "Assassins Creed" game that is set to release next year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, leaving the 360 and PS3 behind.
We now know the new game is called "Victory" and looks to take place in London. The biggest thing about this one is that Ubisoft's Quebec studio is fronting the development, rather than the Montreal team that has headed the main games in the past. We are also hearing this will be the only "Assassins Creed" game next fall. With "Unity" not only being delayed but releasing with all kinds of bugs, fans are against releasing yet another new game next year.
This new footage shows a few new things in the franchise. After a sweeping shots of the city, we see the games protagonist being assigned a target by a masked woman: "The templars must receive our message. You must send it in blood." The target's name is Roderick Bulmer, who is apparently trafficking little girls.
A few quick kills later, the assassin charges towards a train station swapping his hood for a top hat and rushing through the crowd looking for Bulmer.
The assassin sprints through and using what seems to be a new item, the grappling hook, to swing and land on Bulmer plunging his blade into his chest.
After the kill the camera pans out as the protagonist jumps from a train into a haystack revealing the games title screen "Assassins Creed Victory."
Ubisoft has released a statement on the leak.
It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin's Creed Unity for players. Ubisoft
The game is clearly using the same engine that "Unity" runs off, let's hope by the time this game comes out its not riddled with problems like "Unity" is.
