Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China Official Launch Trailer
2.5 Dimensions of Assassin-ing
Releasing today in the United States (April 21st) and tomorrow in the EU, "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China" is the latest game in the seemingly endless series that is Assassin's Creed. The game follows a Chinese assassin named Shao Jun, a character that was first introduced in the animated short film "Assassin's Creed: Embers," and will (obviously) be set in China...and will likely feature assassinations. Yesterday, we got a look at the official UK launch trailer:
The Chronicles games for "Assassin's Creed" differs significantly from the main games in that it plays more like a platformer, rather than the sandbox "go-anywhere" style that the series is typically known for. While the player will only have one view of the action on screen, they will still be able to run between the different visible 'layers', creating a sort of 2.5 dimensional feel to the gameplay. The actual play will be quite linear, but the player will be able to utilize different paths to progress throughout the game's chapters.
There are two more games set for the Chronicle series of Assassin's Creed - one set in India and one set in Russia. There is no official launch date for those games yet.
"Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China" is available today on PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4,
