“Assassin’s Creed” Novel Announced - Titled

Ubisoft announced that they will be launching a book for the "Assassin's Creed" series titled "Last Descendants."

"Last Descendants" will follow Owen, who is out to try and clear his father's name (for an unidentified reason) and tries to get to use the series trademark Animus. Owen then gets to experience that past, as he discovers the Trident of Eden while getting involved with the Assassins and Templars.

This particular book is targeted towards ages 12 and up, while exploring time periods that include "William 'Boss' Tweed,' Herman Cortes, and Adelina Patti." There are (at least) two books in the "Last Descendants" series here. The first one will launch in September 2016, while the second book will launch in January 2017.

The year 2016 also marks the first year in a while that a major "Assassin's Creed" game won't release. Instead, there's the "Assassin's Creed: Chronicles" games, which are smaller scale 2D games, the aforementioned book, and the "Assassin's Creed" movie. This change in release-schedule is due in part of Ubisoft evaluating the series after the releases of "Assassin's Creed Unity & Syndicate," where they may go to a "regular" schedule as opposed to a annual release.
