Aonuma Gives Small Update on “Zelda Wii U” - Says Things Have Been

"The Legend of Zelda" producer Eiji Aonuma appeared in the latest Famitsu issue (with help from Kotaku for translating the key points) to discuss how "The Legend of Zelda" for Wii U (no known title yet- also rumored to be coming for NX) was coming along.

Aonuma stated that the process has been "busy," but things have been "progressing well," as he is working on the dialogue and in-game text for the game. He also mentioned that this was similar to "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword's" development, where the dialogue was near the end stages (meaning supposedly its nearing completion in terms of development).

Most interesting of note is the last two bits of information for the game. He stated that this title would be a big leap in terms of something new, akin to "Ocarina of Time."

I think the base of our secret sauce has always been Ocarina of Time. But this time, the change in flavor will be like going from Japanese food to Western style food. Perhaps, players will be surprised.

Please look forward to it, because I think we’ll be able to make ‘something new’ like Ocarina of Time was. Eiji Aonuma

At this point, very little is known about the game, other than Link will once again be the protagonist, there's a horse Link can ride while using a bow (with a smart AI for said horse), and there'll be a large emphasis on open world exploring. As stated above, there are rumors that this Wii U title may pull a "Twilight Princess," where the game will appear on the Wii U and the upcoming NX, which hasn't been officially revealed yet.
