Amiibo Can Somewhat Get Free Rides on Metro
Light Goes Green, But Not Entirely Free
It seems amiibos have more uses outside of the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Posted to GoNintendo, someone managed to use a Samus Aran amiibo to turn the ticket gate green at a Russian Metro.
It's not known if the Metro uses the same technology as amiibos or this person used a modded amiibo. It should be noted, however, that there it doesn't actually let people through completely. Destructoid said that the gate won't completely open. The amiibo can turn the light green, but the gate won't open since there is some authorization steps that the amiibo can't get past.
